TANJALA Cushion Series
Earthen Base & Ember Orange Detail
Handwoven wool front • Keria cotton back • Upcycled at the criée
Meet TANJALA, a bold yet grounding cushion collection crafted from a beautifully thin-woven Amazigh hayk sourced at the criée berbère in Marrakech. A rich, earthy brown wool sets the scene while a vivid band of burnt orange and deep chocolate geometric stripes cuts across each cushion — a striking duo that feels both warm and refreshingly contemporary.
Because the hayk was woven in one long continuous panel, every cushion front shares the same palette and design language, yet the stripe placement varies slightly from piece to piece — giving each cushion its own personality. The back is finished in crisp off-white keria cotton, adding a soft, breathable contrast.
TANJALA brings warmth, texture and a hit of Moroccan craft to any room: think sofas, reading corners, beds, or layered with other SOUK in the CITY pieces for a more eclectic, collected look.
𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐉𝐀𝐋𝐀?
Derived from the Moroccan Arabic word “tanjaliya”, evoking glow, embers and warm radiance, the name reflects the fiery orange stripe dancing across the calm brown base — a glowing spark in woven form.

This thin, beautifully woven hayk was sourced at the bustling criée berbère — a place where rural textiles arrive from Atlas villages every day. The intense orange stripe immediately drew attention amidst the piles of fabrics, making TANJALA a standout find.
